Repatriation of French citizens in New Zealand
Air Charter Service was asked by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to fly home a large group of 400 stranded citizens in April 2020, during the global Covid-19 lockdown.
OUR SOLUTION
Route: Auckland > Paris (with a fuel stop in Hong Kong)
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER
We worked with our Australian office to source a Boeing 777-300ER, which was competitively priced and could accommodate such a large group. The Australian carrier we chartered from had never flown to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris before, so we worked closely with them to ensure that the correct permits were obtained and crew rests were possible despite border closures.

Global Network: ACS has an international network of offices that work closely together to pool resources and local knowledge. In this case, our Australian office helped to source the aircraft and finalise the paperwork as quickly as possible, which minimised delay.
Fun Fact: The crew completed the world’s longest direct flight on the empty aircraft’s return journey from Paris to Brisbane.
