ABOUT THIS AIRCRAFT
Similar to the B707 in performance and capacity, the DC-8 54/55 is cheaper to operate than others in its class, including the A300. Featuring four turbofan engines it is suited to medium to long haul flights and was the first jet powered airliner manufactured by McDonnell Douglas.
